Thypoch Simera-C 75mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount
Thypoch Simera-C 75mm T1.5 FF Prime Cine Lens M-Mount | 75mm cine framing with bright T1.5 exposure
The defining choice here is the 75mm focal length: it gives you short-telephoto framing that can bring a subject forward while keeping some of the scene around them. The Thypoch Simera-C is an interchangeable prime cine lens for filmmakers who want that more selective perspective in a full-frame setup. Its Leica M mount makes it a lens for cameras with that mount, and its single focal length encourages you to shape a shot by moving the camera rather than zooming. That can be especially useful for planned dialogue scenes, portraits in motion and carefully composed inserts. This is a focused tool for video and filmmaking, rather than a general-purpose zoom. If your work calls for a 75mm view and deliberate shot-making, the Simera-C gives you a clear point of departure.
Specialist Note
Late-afternoon light settles over a quiet café table, and a close shot of a face needs to hold its mood. I’d open this lens to T1.5 when light is limited; that gives you more room to manage exposure before pushing ISO. For a 25 fps scene, a shutter speed around 1/50 sec is a sensible starting point, then adjust exposure to suit the light. Manual focus suits a measured pull from a face to a detail, especially when you can rehearse the move. The 32° angle of view keeps the composition fairly selective, which is useful for intimate scenes but can feel restrictive in a small room. I’d choose it for controlled setups, not cramped wide shots.
