Westcott 14.8V D-Tap Li-ion Battery Charger

Westcott 14.8V D-Tap Li-ion Battery Charger | Charging for D-Tap batteries

The Westcott 14.8V D-Tap Li-ion Battery Charger is named for its 14.8V D-Tap Li-ion battery type, and suits camera and video users who work with batteries carrying that designation. Its purpose is straightforward: it’s a charger for this specific battery category. If you’re organising a power kit or replacing a charger, those details give you a clear starting point when matching it to the battery you use. This is a focused accessory rather than a general-purpose charger, so the most useful thing about it is the precise battery type in its name. There’s no need to guess from a broad product label; you can compare the voltage, D-Tap designation and Li-ion chemistry with the wording on your battery.

When choosing a charger, match the details printed on the battery rather than relying on appearance or a familiar brand name. Voltage, connector designation and battery chemistry all help identify the type of charger you need. This Westcott model is labelled for 14.8V D-Tap Li-ion batteries, giving you a direct reference point for that check.

That specificity is also worth keeping in mind when you’re sorting equipment for a shoot. A charger’s name can help distinguish it from other power accessories, but it shouldn’t be treated as a universal fit for every battery in a kit. Use the battery’s own identification as your guide and keep this model with the batteries that carry the matching designation. It’s a simple way to make the intended pairing clear when you’re packing or putting gear away.
