SmallRig 4801 L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Nikon Z F
SmallRig 4801 L-Shape Mount Plate w/ Wooden Handle For Nikon Z F | More support for handheld video
The defining choice is the L-shaped plate paired with a wooden handle: SmallRig has made a shoulder rig to give the Nikon Z f extra support for handheld video. That’s the point of this setup—not adding features for stills, but giving you a more deliberate way to hold and guide the camera while recording. It suits Nikon Z f owners who shoot short interviews, presenter pieces or walk-through footage and want a dedicated grip when filming handheld. The plate and handle make its role clear: this is focused support for handheld takes, not a replacement for a tripod when you need a fixed frame. If video is a regular part of your work and you want extra support while holding the camera, this SmallRig keeps the solution simple and specific to the Nikon Z f.
Specialist Note
In use, the wooden handle gives your grip a defined place to go, so you can guide the Nikon Z f through a handheld take without relying only on your hold around the camera body. The L-shaped plate makes this a support arrangement built for the Nikon Z f, rather than a handle on its own. I’d use it for an interview or a short presenter piece: hold the handle, tuck your elbows in and keep movements small for a calmer frame. The 4801 suits a videographer who wants extra support built around this camera. One limitation is straightforward: it’s a handheld rig, so for a completely fixed shot, use a tripod.
