Tilta Ta-LSR-500-B 500G Counterweight - Black
Tilta Ta-LSR-500-B 500G Counterweight - Black | Add balance to handheld video rigs
Without a counterweight, handheld camera support depends more on how you hold the rig. The Tilta Ta-LSR-500-B is a 500G counterweight for shoulder-rig setups, intended for handheld video work where the camera needs extra support. It suits videographers who want to balance a rig for steadier, more comfortable handling during a take, rather than relying on their arms alone. The useful point is its clear role: it adds counterweight to a shoulder rig, helping make the setup feel more balanced when held. That can be welcome for interview footage, event coverage or other handheld recording where you need to keep the camera supported for longer stretches. It’s a focused rig accessory, not a replacement for a shoulder rig or a way to remove the effort of handheld filming.
Specialist Note
This does add weight to your setup, so it won’t suit someone trying to keep a handheld rig as light as possible. The reason to choose it is the 500G counterweight: that added mass can help balance a shoulder rig, so you’re less dependent on gripping harder to manage the camera. I’d consider it for seated interviews and longer handheld event segments; take time to balance the rig before recording, then keep your support consistent through the shot. The black finish keeps the accessory visually restrained. It’s most useful when your priority is a better-balanced rig, not a lighter one.
