SmallRig 5429 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Handle For Canon EOS R50 V (Black)
SmallRig 5429 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Handle For Canon EOS R50 V (Black) | Extra support for handheld video
Handheld video can feel tiring when you’re trying to keep the camera supported through a take. The SmallRig 5429 is an L-shaped mount plate with a handle, made for the Canon EOS R50 V. It’s a shoulder rig for people who shoot video by hand and want extra support while working. That makes it a practical fit for solo creators, interview setups and other situations where you need to move the camera rather than leave it on a fixed support. The plate and handle give the camera a more deliberate rig form to work with, while keeping the setup focused on handheld filming. It’s a specific tool for video, rather than an all-purpose camera accessory. If you use the EOS R50 V for handheld clips and want a dedicated rig to hold, this SmallRig is built around that job.
Specialist Note
For a 1-camera interview setup with the EOS R50 V, I’d use the 5429 when you’ll be filming handheld and want extra support through a full answer. The L-shaped plate gives the camera a defined rig shape, and the handle gives you a dedicated place to hold it; together, those details make more sense for sustained video than for occasional stills. It suits a solo creator filming a presenter or following a subject around a room. Keep your grip on the handle and use the rig for the handheld take. One honest point: its purpose is quite specific, so I’d choose it for handheld video rather than as a general-purpose camera accessory.
