The Sunwayfoto Universal Mobile Phone Cage (PCR-01) is a shoulder rig intended to give handheld video work extra support. It suits people who film with a phone and want a rig for their shooting setup, rather than relying on an unsupported handheld approach. Think of recording a presenter or making a short video while moving through a space: the point is to add support while you film, so you can concentrate more on the subject and the shot. It’s a focused tool for video, not a general-purpose camera accessory. If your filming is mostly static, a shoulder rig may be more than you need; its purpose is most relevant when you want support during handheld work. For phone video that benefits from a more supported setup, the PCR-01 is a straightforward option to consider.

Specialist Note

At a kitchen table, I’d use the PCR-01 for a one-person phone video where I need to keep the framing supported while speaking to camera. As a shoulder rig, it’s intended to give handheld filming extra support; that makes it more relevant for a short presenter piece than for a clip where the phone can simply stay still. I’d also consider it for a brief walkthrough: plan the route, keep the phone’s framing on the subject, and use the rig as support while filming handheld. It’s a video-focused purchase, so I wouldn’t choose it for photography alone. If you mainly film stationary scenes, you may have little reason to add a rig.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Shoulder rig

Intended use: Handheld video work needing extra support

Category: Tripods > Shoulder Tripod > Rig
