3 Legged Thing Axis 34 Padded Neck Shoulder Strap Obsidian
3 Legged Thing Axis 34 Padded Neck Shoulder Strap Obsidian | More comfortable camera carrying
The defining choice is the padded neck-and-shoulder design: it puts cushioning where the strap rests against you, for carrying a camera without a narrow, unpadded strap as the contact point. The Axis 34 is a camera strap from 3 Legged Thing, finished in Obsidian. Its format is aimed at photographers who want to carry their camera on a strap while moving between viewpoints, rather than keeping it in a bag between pictures. That can make sense for street photography, events or a day spent making pictures around town, when you want the camera close at hand. The name tells you this is the Axis 34 model; the number is part of the model name, not a measurement to rely on when choosing a strap. If a padded neck-and-shoulder style suits the way you carry your camera, this is a straightforward option with a dark, understated finish.
Specialist Note
Photographers following street scenes, family moments or events often want the camera ready without carrying it in their hands all the time. The Axis 34’s padded section is the detail to focus on: it gives the strap a cushioned contact point during those stretches between pictures. Its neck-and-shoulder format makes it a natural match for carrying the camera across your upper body; I’d choose it for moving around a venue or walking a neighbourhood and stopping to shoot as moments appear. The honest consideration is that this is a carrying strap, not a camera feature or a substitute for a bag when you need to put the camera away. Obsidian keeps the look restrained.
