Radius Windcover For Rycote WS6 Windshield
Radius Windcover For Rycote WS6 Windshield | Bag protection against scuffs and bumps
Its pouch format is made for one straightforward job: keeping a Rycote WS6 Windshield from rubbing against other gear when it’s packed in a larger bag. The Radius Windcover is a protective case for sound recordists who carry that windshield between recording sessions, or keep it stored with their kit. Put the WS6 inside before packing it alongside other equipment, and the pouch helps guard its surface against scratches and everyday bumps. That makes it most useful as an extra layer within a camera or audio bag, rather than as a standalone storage solution. It’s a simple way to keep the windshield separate from the loose items around it, so it’s ready to use when you need it. The focus here is practical protection in transit, not extra features or a complicated setup.
Specialist Note
For recordists capturing interviews or other spoken audio with a Rycote WS6 Windshield, this pouch makes sense as part of the packing routine. I’d slide the WS6 into it before putting the windshield in a larger kit bag; that gives its surface a barrier from neighbouring equipment and helps prevent bag-time scuffs and knocks. Its specific fit for the WS6 is the point: it’s there to protect that windshield, not to organise your whole recording kit. I’d think of it as everyday protection inside a bag, rather than a case for heavy crushing or rough handling. If you already carry the WS6 between setups, this is a simple way to keep it better separated from the rest of your gear.
