Kodak Waterproof WPZ2 Yellow 4X Zoom WiFi + Extra Battery + 16GB

Kodak Waterproof WPZ2 Yellow 4X Zoom WiFi + Extra Battery + 16GB - waterproof to 15 metres

Waterproof to 15 metres, the Kodak Waterproof WPZ2 Yellow packs a 4x optical zoom into a compact camera for days around water and outdoor trips. It’s a straightforward option for swimmers, snorkellers and families who want a camera they can take into the water, rather than keep safely ashore. The yellow body is dustproof and withstands a fall from up to 2 metres, too. Take it snorkelling, use it for poolside family photos, or bring it along on a dusty walk: those protection ratings give it a clear role beyond ordinary compact cameras. Its 4.9–19.6mm lens covers a 27–108mm equivalent range, so you can frame a wider view or bring a distant subject closer with optical zoom. WiFi is included, and this package adds a second battery and a 16GB memory card, so you have a spare power source and storage in the box. The 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor records stills, while Full HD video gives you another way to capture a trip. It’s a small camera with a specific strength: you can take it into places where water, dust or a knock would make a regular compact camera a less comfortable companion.

Why it is useful

• 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor: The sensor gives you 16 megapixels for still photographs. That resolution is useful for sharing everyday holiday images and keeping detail in a compact-camera file.
• Full HD video: Record moving scenes as well as stills, from a swim to a family outing. Full HD keeps video capture simple when you want a clip alongside your photos.
• Burst shooting up to 6 frames per second: A short burst can record several moments in quick succession. That’s handy for action that passes quickly, such as a splash or a moving subject.
• 4.9–19.6mm lens: The lens spans 27–108mm in 35mm-equivalent terms. That range gives you wide-angle framing at one end and a closer view at the other, without changing lenses.
• Additional 6x digital zoom: Digital zoom extends framing beyond the 4x optical range. It offers another way to make a distant subject fill more of the frame, though optical zoom is the camera’s core zoom range.
• Dustproof and shock-resistant body: The camera is rated to withstand a fall from up to 2 metres and is dustproof. These protections are useful on rougher outings where a compact camera may encounter grit or a bump.
• 7-inch LCD screen: The rear screen provides a viewing area for framing and reviewing images. It’s particularly useful when you want to check a shot straight after taking it.

Good to know

The camera measures 95 × 63 × 25mm, and weighs 130g without batteries. That compact size is useful when you’re packing light, while the listed weight gives you a sense of what the camera itself adds to a bag before you fit a battery. The screen is listed as 7 inches, so it’s worth keeping that figure in mind when comparing the WPZ2 with other compact cameras.
