Sachtler SAC-7003 Ground Spreader SP 100/150
Sachtler SAC-7003 Ground Spreader SP 100/150 | Keep tripod legs spread at ground level
For keeping the legs of an SP 100/150 tripod spread at ground level, the Sachtler SAC-7003 Ground Spreader SP 100/150 is a dedicated tripod accessory. It’s intended for setups where you want the tripod’s leg spread supported close to the floor, helping maintain a consistent base for a fixed camera position. That makes it relevant for studio framing, interviews or other shots where the tripod stays in place and a steady composition matters. The model name identifies the spreader with Sachtler’s SP 100/150 tripod range, so it’s a focused addition rather than a general-purpose support accessory. If you use that tripod and need a ground-level spreader, this is the part to consider. Its appeal is straightforward: it addresses the leg spread at floor level, without adding an unrelated feature or changing the role of your tripod. For a moving setup, the spreader is less central; its purpose comes into play when the tripod is set up and holding position.
Specialist Note
The ground-level position is the detail that matters here: this spreader works at the base of the tripod legs, helping keep their spread in place rather than leaving that job to the floor. I’d look at it for a fixed interview frame or a studio shot where you want to set the Sachtler SP 100/150 and leave it standing in the same position. The SP 100/150 designation is useful when choosing the accessory; it ties this part to that named tripod range. One practical point: it’s a specific tripod accessory, so its usefulness depends on having the matching SP 100/150 setup. If that’s your tripod, it’s a clear, purpose-led addition.
