The Godox Round Head Flash Projector fp R 36 is a speedlight flash for photographers who want another source of light when the available light isn’t enough. It’s especially suited to events, indoor portraits and fill light in harsh sun. At a gathering, added flash can help when you’re making portraits in dim surroundings. Indoors, it gives you another way to light a person; outdoors, fill flash can help soften the contrast between a bright background and a face in shade. This is a focused tool for situations where you need to add light, rather than a general-purpose camera accessory. If events or portraits regularly bring you tricky lighting, the fp R 36 has a clear role to play.

Where this flash helps

For an indoor portrait, the aim is to add light to your subject. In harsh sunlight, the job is different: fill flash can help balance a shaded face against brighter surroundings. At events, those lighting conditions can change from one moment to the next, making a speedlight a practical option to have available for portraits.

Specialist Note

For quick family portraits between speeches, I’d consider the Godox Round Head Flash Projector fp R 36 when the room light isn’t giving you enough. It’s a speedlight, so its role is to add flash light; that’s useful for indoor portraits and also for filling shadows on a face in harsh sun. I’d suggest it to event photographers and portrait shooters who encounter both situations. The honest trade-off is that it brings flash lighting into your picture; if you specifically want to work with available light alone, it won’t give you that look.

Technical Specifications

Product type: speedlight flash

Typical use: events

Typical use: indoor portraits and fill light in harsh sun
