The Radius RAD-2 Field Edition is a pair of microphone shock mounts, for recording setups that call for two mounting points. It’s particularly relevant to field recording, as its Field Edition name suggests, and suits anyone who wants to use shock mounts on a two-microphone setup rather than buy a single mount. That might be a paired recording arrangement or two microphones working in the same session. The title doesn’t establish which microphones or supports the mounts fit, so it’s best to treat this as a focused accessory, not a universal mounting solution. It also won’t take the place of good mic placement or wind protection. If your setup already suits the RAD-2, the pair gives you a matching option for both microphones.

Specialist Note

For a field recording plan that uses two microphones, I’d set aside one RAD-2 for each mounting point; the pair makes that straightforward. A shock mount’s job is to help limit vibration travelling from the support into the microphone, which can be useful when stand or handling movement might otherwise find its way into a recording. The Field Edition name makes this a natural one to consider for location-focused work, but I wouldn’t expect a mount to solve wind noise or poor placement. It suits someone who already has a two-microphone setup in mind and wants to address vibration at the mounting stage. Think of it as one part of the setup, not a substitute for careful recording technique.

Technical Specifications

Product: Radius RAD-2 Field Edition Microphone Shock Mount Pair

Model: RAD-2

Edition: Field Edition

Type: Microphone shock mount

Quantity: Pair
