The SWIT LA-B620 is a softbox with an eggcrate, made for the S-2620, for situations where you want softened light with more control over its direction. It suits photographers and video makers who want to shape a light source rather than let it spill freely onto the rest of the scene. That can be useful for a portrait, an interview or a small product setup, especially when the background needs to stay darker than the subject. The softbox softens the light; the eggcrate helps keep it more focused. It’s a straightforward pairing of those two jobs, without extra controls to learn or settings to manage. If you’re working with an S-2620 and want a more contained soft source, this is the specific accessory to consider.

Shaping the light

An eggcrate is useful when a softbox’s broad spread is getting in the way. It helps limit light spilling toward the background or other parts of the set, while the softbox keeps the light softer than a bare source. The result is a more directed look, rather than a wide wash of illumination. That distinction matters in a compact room, where a nearby wall can catch unwanted light, or when you want to keep attention on one part of the frame. It can also help when you’re balancing a lit subject against a darker background. The trade-off is simple: the grid is there for control, so it’s less suited to a setup where you want the softbox’s light to spread broadly around the scene. I’d choose this version when keeping spill in check is part of the lighting plan. Its purpose is specific: a softbox with an eggcrate for the S-2620, rather than a general-purpose modifier for an unspecified light.

Technical Specifications

Brand: SWIT

Model: LA-B620

Type: Softbox with eggcrate

For: S-2620
