It’s for photographers using a 77mm filter size who want to slow their exposure for moving water, soft cloud movement or other long-exposure effects. The range is especially useful when the light changes; a lighter option gives you more subtle control, while the darkest is suited to much longer exposures in bright conditions. The magnetic design is intended to make switching between strengths straightforward, rather than repeatedly screwing filters on and off. This kit is best for deliberate exposure control, not for correcting colour or changing focus. If you’re still learning long exposures, having three distinct strengths gives you room to experiment and see how much shutter speed each scene needs.

Specialist Note

A common first slip with ND filters is choosing the darkest one for every scene; that can turn a manageable exposure into a very long one. With this kit, you can match the filter strength to the effect instead. The 77mm size suits lenses made for that filter size, and the magnetic format makes changing strengths the practical point of the set. For a simple water-smoothing exercise, meter at 1/125 sec without a filter, then use the strongest option to reach roughly 8 seconds at the same aperture and ISO. That’s a substantial change, so a tripod is sensible. I’d recommend it to 77mm-filter users who want options, though it won’t fit lenses with a different filter size.

Technical Specifications

Filter size: 77mm

Filter type: Neutral-density (ND)

Design: Magnetic

ND strengths: ND8, ND64, ND1000

Version: Plus+
