This Indipro cable is for a different setup: it connects a power source to an LP-E6 type dummy battery, so power can be supplied through the battery compartment instead. It suits photographers and video makers who want to build a power setup around that type of dummy battery, rather than swap batteries during a session. The cable has a 2.1mm male power connector at the other end. Its purpose is specific, which is useful when you’re matching cable ends as part of a planned setup. It’s not a general-purpose cable for every camera or power connection; the LP-E6 type dummy battery and 2.1mm connector are the details that define its use.

Where it fits in your setup

Think of this as the link between an external power source and a camera powered through an LP-E6 type dummy battery. The battery-shaped end takes the place of a battery, while the cable carries power from the source end. That can suit a setup where you want to arrange the power source separately from the camera, rather than depend on the battery in the compartment. The 2.1mm male connector is the other defining part, so the connection on your power source needs to accept that plug. Keep those two ends in mind when planning how the cable will fit into your rig. There’s no extra claim hidden in the name: it tells you the connector size and type, and the dummy-battery type it’s made around.

Technical Specifications

Power connector: 2.1mm male

Dummy battery type: LP-E6 type

Product type: Power cable to dummy battery
