The Tilta MB-T17-S110 is a Mirage Pro Matte Box Starter Kit with a 110mm backing, aimed at filmmakers putting together a rig around that specific backing size. It’s a practical place to start when you want a matte box in the setup without choosing a different backing format. For example, on an exterior scene with bright light near the edge of frame, use the matte box to help keep that light off the lens; indoors, it can help when a window or practical light is close to the camera’s view. The key detail here is the 110mm backing, so plan around that when laying out the front of your rig. It’s a focused option for a matching build, rather than a general accessory for every camera setup.

Specialist Note

Sorting out the front of a rig around the wrong backing size can turn a simple matte-box addition into a mismatch; this kit gives you a specific 110mm starting point. I’d consider it for a controlled interview setup or an exterior shot with strong side light: use the matte box to shade the lens, then position the camera so the unwanted light is kept outside the lens’s view. The “Starter Kit” name makes it a sensible route into the Mirage Pro matte-box setup, while the 110mm backing is the detail to build around. It suits filmmakers whose rig is designed for that backing size; it’s not a universal fit for differently sized builds.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Tilta

Model: MB-T17-S110

Product type: Mirage Pro Matte Box Starter Kit

Backing: 110mm

https://www.htf-store.com/es/products/tilta-mb-t17-s110-mirage-pro-matte-box-starter-kit-110mm-backing
