Radius Windcover For Rycote WS1 Windshield Black Fur
Radius Windcover For Rycote WS1 Windshield Black Fur | Protection in a camera bag
A windshield can pick up scratches or bumps when it’s loose among other gear in a larger bag. The Radius Windcover is a protective pouch for the Rycote WS1 windshield, giving it a dedicated place when you’re packing away your sound equipment. It’s best suited to protecting the windshield during storage and transport inside a larger bag, rather than serving as a general-purpose camera case. If you carry a Rycote WS1 between recording sessions, keeping it in its own pouch helps keep it separate from the rest of your kit. That’s a simple way to reduce the knocks and scuffs that can happen when equipment shifts around in a packed bag. The product name identifies it as the Black Fur version; the key practical point is its role as a protective case for the WS1.
Specialist Note
“Is this meant for a Rycote WS1 windshield?” Yes — this is the protective pouch for that specific windshield. I’d use it when packing the WS1 into a larger equipment bag, so it has its own layer between it and other gear. That makes it a sensible fit for sound recordists who move their kit between locations or simply want to store the windshield without leaving it loose in the bag. It’s a storage solution, not something I’d describe as a windcover to use during recording. If you need protection from scratches and bumps while the WS1 is packed away, this is the job it’s made for.
