Metabones Contax Yashica - X-Mount Cine Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X)

Metabones Contax Yashica - X-Mount Cine Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X) | A direct route between two lens systems

It can be frustrating to have a Contax/Yashica lens you want to use, but a camera with an X-Mount. This Metabones converter is made for that specific pairing: it connects Contax/Yashica lenses with X-Mount cameras, with a 0.71x Cine Speed Booster Ultra design. That makes it a specialised option for filmmakers and camera users building a setup around these two systems, rather than a general-purpose converter. The key detail is right in the name: this is the 0.71x version, so you can distinguish it from other products in the Speed Booster range. There’s no need to guess which lens mount the adapter is for. It’s a focused piece of kit for a clearly defined job, and that specificity is its main strength. If your lenses and camera match the two named mounts, this is the model to consider.

Check the pairing before choosing

With a mount converter, the first question is simple: does its lens-side mount match the lens you intend to use, and does its camera-side mount match your camera? This model’s name identifies those ends as Contax/Yashica and X-Mount. That makes it easier to narrow down the right product when you’re comparing adapters, especially if you own lenses from a particular system and want to build your setup around them. The 0.71x designation is also worth keeping in view when comparing versions; it identifies this model, rather than serving as a general description of every converter in the range. I’d treat the exact mount pairing as the deciding point, then use the full product name to distinguish this version. It’s a niche adapter, but the naming is refreshingly specific.
