The Panasonic LUMIX G 35-100mm f/4.0-5.6 MFT Black gives you a 35-100mm focal-length range in a lens made for Micro Four Thirds cameras. At the shorter end, you can include more of a scene; zoom in to make a person or a distant detail fill more of the frame. That flexibility is handy when you’re photographing a changing moment and can’t reposition freely. It suits photographers who want to travel light on lens changes and who often shoot portraits, performances or candid moments from a little distance. The range is useful for bringing your framing in close, while still letting you pull back when the scene calls for more context.

Specialist Note

When the person or moment you want is just beyond easy reach, this zoom gives you a way to frame it without stepping into the scene. On a Micro Four Thirds camera, its 35-100mm range frames like 70-200mm on full frame, so the long end can suit a portrait from across a room or a candid event moment. For a head-and-shoulders portrait, try the 100mm end and leave some space between you and your subject. The f/4-5.6 maximum aperture is the trade-off: in a dim venue, you may need to raise ISO, and for moving people I’d start around 1/500 sec and adjust from there.
