DESVIEW P5II Preview Monitor | Keep your shot in view

Keep your framing in view as you work: the DESVIEW P5II Preview Monitor is a field monitor for people who want to preview their picture while making a shot. Its role is straightforward—give you a monitor to look at as you compose, rather than relying only on the camera’s own display. That can be helpful when you’re arranging a frame, checking what’s included at the edges, or keeping an eye on the picture while a camera operator works. It suits filmmakers and other camera users who need a dedicated preview monitor as part of their setup. The product name identifies it as a preview monitor, but doesn’t tell us its screen size, connections, power options or monitoring tools, so I wouldn’t choose it on the assumption that it has a particular feature. If you need a field monitor for basic picture viewing, this is the product to consider; match your choice to the functions your work calls for.

Specialist Note

The DESVIEW P5II Preview Monitor is made for one clear job: giving you a screen for viewing your shot as you compose. I’d consider it if you’re making video and want to check the frame while you set up a shot, or if you’re working with another person operating the camera and need a preview point. The “P5II” is its model name, while “Preview Monitor” tells you what it is for; the title doesn’t give me grounds to recommend it for a specific connection, camera system or monitoring feature. My advice is to choose it for the need for a preview monitor itself, and to make sure its actual functions suit the way you plan to work.
