Permajet Fine Art Semi Gloss Canvas 360 60''/12m

Permajet Fine Art Semi Gloss Canvas 360 60''/12m | A wide roll for canvas prints

When a photograph is destined for a large canvas rather than a frame, a roll format gives you room to plan the print around the image. Permajet Fine Art Semi Gloss Canvas 360 is a canvas paper roll, 60 inches wide and 12 metres long, with a semi-gloss finish. It’s aimed at photographers and printmakers preparing their own canvas prints, especially when a single sheet won’t suit the intended size or layout. The name gives you the essentials: canvas, semi-gloss, and a generous roll format. That makes it a sensible starting point for planning a series of prints or one wider piece. The honest point is that the title alone can’t tell you how a particular image will look on the surface, so judge the finish with your subject and presentation in mind.

Planning a canvas print

Before you commit to a print, decide how much of the image should remain visible and how it will be presented. A photograph with important detail near its edges may need a different crop from one with open space around the subject. Work out the print dimensions first, then consider how much of the roll your layout will use. That simple bit of planning can help you make better use of a 12-metre roll, particularly when you’re producing several pieces in a consistent size. The 60-inch width gives you a clear maximum across the roll; the length gives you room to plan more than one print. Those numbers describe the format, not the finished image size, so allow for your own layout and finishing decisions. Semi-gloss is part of the product’s name, and it’s worth choosing with the look you want for the finished artwork in mind. For a considered print workflow, this roll puts the canvas format and dimensions up front.
