SmallRig 5706 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Nikon Z F (Silver)
SmallRig 5706 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Silicone Handle For Nikon Z F (Silver) | More support for handheld video
The L-shaped mount plate with a silicone handle gives this SmallRig rig a clear purpose: adding hand support for handheld video with a Nikon Z F. It suits filmmakers who prefer to keep the camera in their hands while recording, especially for interviews, short pieces to camera and other footage where a handheld setup is more practical than a tripod. The design brings a plate and handle together in one camera support, rather than asking you to treat the camera body itself as the only place to hold. That makes it a focused accessory for handheld work, not a general-purpose camera support. Its silver finish gives the rig a distinct look alongside the Nikon Z F, while the silicone handle provides a dedicated contact point for your grip. If your filming is mostly handheld and you want extra support around the camera, this is the use it’s made for.
Specialist Note
Late-afternoon interviews often call for a camera that can move with the conversation instead of staying fixed on a tripod. For a one-camera handheld setup, the SmallRig 5706 gives your hand a dedicated silicone handle to hold while you frame with the Nikon Z F. The L-shaped plate is the defining part of the design: it forms the mount-plate side of this shoulder rig, so you’re adding a support built around the camera rather than a separate shooting platform. I’d consider it for short interviews or a walk-and-talk clip where you need to stay mobile. It’s still a handheld rig, though; for a locked-off shot, a tripod is the better tool.
