Sirui Astra Series 100mm T1.8 1.33X FullFrame Cine Lens (E Mount Blue Flare) | Anamorphic character for Sony E filmmaking

For interviews and narrative scenes with a widescreen, anamorphic look, the Sirui Astra Series 100mm T1.8 1.33X FullFrame Cine Lens (E Mount Blue Flare) gives you a close, composed view with blue flare character. It’s a 100mm short telephoto prime for full-frame Sony E cameras, with a 1.33x squeeze and a fast T1.8 maximum aperture. That combination suits filmmakers who want a more deliberate, cinematic frame for dialogue, portraits or carefully staged details. Its manual-focus design is made for controlled focusing during video work, rather than quick point-and-shoot adjustments. The 100mm focal length keeps attention on a subject without making the lens a general-purpose wide view, so it’s best when you can choose your position and framing. For independent productions, interviews and other planned shots, it offers a specific anamorphic look in a Sony E mount.

Specialist Note

This lens gives you an anamorphic widescreen image without using a crop as the workaround. I’d consider it for a seated interview or a carefully framed close-up, where the 100mm view helps keep the subject prominent. At T1.8, you can work with less light and keep the background soft, though accurate focus matters at that aperture. Manual focus makes it a better fit for planned pulls than for fast, reactive shooting. On a Sony APS-C body, the framing is equivalent to 150mm, which is useful for tighter portraits but needs more working distance. It suits filmmakers who can control camera position and focus, rather than run-and-gun work.
