Sirui Sniper 75mm f/1.2 Aps-C/S35 Auto-Focus Lens (X Mount White)
Sirui Sniper 75mm f/1.2 APS-C/S35 Auto-Focus Lens (X Mount White) | Bright, flattering portraits on Fujifilm X
Sirui’s choice of a 75mm short-telephoto focal length gives this lens a close, portrait-friendly view, while its f/1.2 maximum aperture lets in plenty of light. On an APS-C Fujifilm X camera, that focal length gives a field of view similar to a 112.5mm lens on full frame, making it well suited to head-and-shoulder portraits and details at events. Autofocus helps you keep your attention on the person in front of the camera rather than turning the focus ring. The lens is also suited to event photography, where available light and a clean separation between subject and background can matter. This is a prime lens, so you’ll work with its fixed field of view rather than zooming in or out. This is the white version for the Fuji X mount.
Working with the 75mm view
This focal length gives you a tighter composition than a standard lens, so it’s easier to concentrate the frame on a face or a small detail. It also asks for a little room: indoors, you may need to step back to fit more of a person into the frame. For events, that reach can help you make individual portraits without placing the camera right beside your subject. The 21° angle of view keeps the frame focused, rather than taking in a wide scene.
Specialist Note
The autofocus lets you stay with the moment as expressions change, while the 75mm framing gives portraits a more considered, close-up feel. On a Fujifilm X body, think of it as roughly a 112.5mm full-frame-equivalent view: useful when you want a head-and-shoulders portrait without crowding your subject. The f/1.2 aperture gives you room to work in dim event light; for moving people, I’d start around 1/250 sec and adjust ISO as needed. It suits portrait photographers and event shooters who have space to step back. Its narrow view is less comfortable in cramped rooms or for group photos.
