Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 L Mount.

Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 L Mount | Wide views, with room to frame

Without a wide-angle zoom, getting a whole building or sweeping landscape into the frame can mean stepping back until you run out of space. The Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 L Mount gives Leica L photographers a way to frame broad scenes from where they are, then adjust the composition without changing lenses. It’s an autofocus zoom suited to landscape, architecture, astro and travel photography, especially when the view feels too large for a standard perspective. The wide end helps include more of a scene; zooming in gives you a tighter composition when you want to reduce empty foreground or simplify the frame. It’s a specialist lens rather than an all-purpose walk-around option, but that focused role is exactly where it earns its place: wide views, tricky interiors and night skies.

Make the wide view work

Wide framing rewards a little care. In architecture, keep the camera level where possible to help vertical lines stay upright; in a landscape, look for a foreground detail to give the scene structure. When travelling, zooming in slightly can help you leave distracting edges out of the picture. These small framing choices make a wide composition feel deliberate rather than simply expansive.
