TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 MFT (Pana/Olympus) | FourThirds Black | Wide views for landscapes, buildings and night skies

When a landscape feels too wide to capture from where you’re standing, or a building won’t fit neatly into the frame, a wide-angle prime can help you include more of the scene. The TTArtisan 17mm f/1.4 is an interchangeable lens for the Micro Four Thirds system, including Panasonic and Olympus cameras with an MFT mount. Its 17mm focal length gives a stated 65° angle of view, making it suited to landscape and architectural compositions as well as astro photography. It’s a practical option for photographers who want a fixed focal length and are happy to compose by moving themselves rather than zooming. The black finish keeps the look understated; the appeal here is the direct, wide framing and the freedom to make deliberate choices about what enters the picture.

Specialist Note

Getting a useful wide frame in dim conditions can be tricky; this lens gives you an f/1.4 maximum aperture to work with. For astro scenes, opening to f/1.4 lets you gather more light, while the manual focus suits careful focusing before you make the exposure. I’d suggest it to MFT photographers who enjoy setting up a composition themselves: for architecture, step back where possible and use the 17mm view to include more of the structure. On Micro Four Thirds, that focal length frames like a 34mm lens on full frame, so it’s wide, but not an extreme, all-encompassing view. That’s worth keeping in mind for very tight interiors.
