This Ilford filter is identified as A/Lens, in 30 x 30 cm, grade GR00. It suits darkroom printers whose notes or existing setup call for that exact designation, and its strongest use is as a specific replacement or addition to an organised printing setup. The grade and size are stated plainly, so you can compare them with the details you already work from instead of choosing by appearance alone. It’s a focused purchase rather than a general darkroom accessory: the useful question is whether A/Lens and GR00 match the filter your printing process calls for. If they do, this gives you a clearly labelled Ilford option to keep with your other printing materials.

Specialist Note

This is a very specific filter, so it won’t suit a print plan that calls for a different grade. Its appeal is that the designation is clear: choose GR00 when that’s what your printing notes specify, rather than treating it as an interchangeable MG item. The 30 x 30 cm size gives you another exact detail to match against the filter you need, which is useful when replacing an item in an established setup. I’d see it suiting a darkroom printer who keeps a record of filter choices or wants the named grade ready for a particular print. Keep the A/Lens marking in view when you compare it with your workflow; that detail is part of what makes this the right match.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Ilford

Type: MG filter, A/Lens

Size: 30 x 30 cm

Grade: GR00
