It suits a setup that already uses a compatible sliding plate and needs a separate lock for that job. Its purpose is specific: securing the plate, rather than serving as the plate or a complete camera support. That makes it relevant when assembling or maintaining a rig where the plate needs to stay put once positioned. The product name identifies it as the H38B-4, which is useful when you’re looking for this particular part rather than a general camera accessory. There’s no need to read more into the name than it says: this is a sliding plate lock. If that’s the part your setup calls for, it gives you a straightforward way to address plate locking without adding unrelated functions.

Specialist Note

Once the plate is where you want it, a sliding plate lock is there to hold that position; that’s the simple job I’d expect this part to do in a rig. The H38B-4 designation is handy when you need to identify the exact lock, while “Sliding Plate Lock” tells you its role at a glance. I’d consider it for a camera setup that gets repositioned along a plate, locking the plate after you’ve set the camera position and before moving the rig. One practical limit: this is a lock, not the sliding plate itself, so it belongs in a setup that already has a suitable plate.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Libec

Model: H38B-4

Product type: Sliding plate lock
