That makes it relevant when you need a cable between audio equipment with those respective connections, rather than a cable with matching plugs at both ends. It’s aimed at people putting together a microphone or audio setup who already know which jack formats their devices use. The cable’s role is straightforward: provide the physical connection between those ports. That’s useful in a recording setup where the equipment has different 3.5mm jack formats, but connector shape alone doesn’t tell you whether every device will pass the signal you want. Match the cable to the connections in your setup, and treat device compatibility as a separate consideration. There are no extra controls or setup steps described here to factor into your choice.

Specialist Note

The Saramonic SR-PMC1 is a simple way to join audio equipment with 3.5mm TRRS and TRS connections. The 3.5mm size tells you it’s for compact audio jacks, so it suits a small microphone setup where full-size connections aren’t in use. The TRRS and TRS labels matter: look at the actual sockets on the two devices and match each to the corresponding plug before you connect them. For example, you can use it to make the physical link between a microphone-related device and another piece of audio equipment with the other jack format. One practical caveat: matching the plugs doesn’t, by itself, confirm that the devices’ signal wiring is compatible.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Cable

Connector size: 3.5mm

Connector formats: TRRS and TRS
