The Tokina 127mm Pro IRND 2.1 is an infrared-neutral-density filter for reducing the light reaching your camera, giving you more room to choose your exposure. It’s relevant to photographers and filmmakers working with a 127mm filter setup who need an IRND filter rather than a standard ND designation. The 2.1 in the name identifies this particular density, so it’s the detail to match to the exposure reduction your setup calls for. Use it when controlling light is more important than simply accepting the shutter speed or aperture the scene dictates. It’s a specialised option, and its value is in having this precise filter size and designation for a setup that calls for them.

Specialist Note

Too much light can box you into a shutter speed or aperture you didn’t want; this filter gives you another way to manage that exposure. The 127mm size is a key practical point, so it suits a rig already built around that filter format, not a casual purchase for a smaller filter setup. Its 2.1 designation helps you identify the density you’re choosing when planning an exposure. I’d consider it for controlling the look of moving water or keeping a wider aperture in bright conditions. One honest caveat: that specific size makes fit the first thing to get right for your setup.

Technical Specifications

Product name: Tokina 127mm Pro IRND 2.1

Filter size: 127mm

Filter type: IRND

Density designation: 2.1
