Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube (86.4cm)

Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube (86.4cm) | A measured frame component

For building a scrim frame around a specific 86.4 cm tube length, the Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Frame Tube is a straightforward part to consider. It’s a frame tube from Westcott’s Scrim Jim Cine range, intended for background and light-shaping setups where the frame itself is part of the working arrangement. That stated length gives you a concrete measurement to compare with the space you have and the frame plan you’re following. If you’re assembling a setup from individual frame parts, keeping track of each tube’s length helps you plan the outline before you start. This isn’t a complete description of a frame system; it’s one specifically sized tube. The useful point is the number: 86.4 cm. That makes it easier to assess this part on its own rather than guess from a product photo.

A frame part with a clear measurement

Scrim work often depends on placing a framed surface where you need it, so choosing a tube by its length is a practical first step. This product’s name identifies it as a Westcott Scrim Jim Cine frame tube, while the 86.4 cm measurement helps distinguish it from tubes of other lengths. If you’re matching a part to an existing plan, use that number as the reference point for this component.

For a new arrangement, start with the space the frame needs to occupy, then consider whether this measured tube belongs in that plan. It’s a simple detail, but one that matters when you’re laying out a background or a light-shaping setup. I’d treat the stated length as the reason to choose this particular tube, rather than assume it tells you the dimensions of a complete frame.
