Panasonic LUMIX G 25mm f/1.7 MFT Black | A bright prime for street and travel

For street scenes and travel, the Panasonic LUMIX G 25mm f/1.7 gives you a composed, natural-looking view that’s well suited to people, details and everyday moments. This black autofocus prime has a 25mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/1.7, for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Its 47° angle of view keeps the framing purposeful: you can make a subject the focus without including too much of the surrounding scene. Autofocus helps when moments move quickly, while the bright maximum aperture gives you more room to work as available light fades. As a prime lens, it has a fixed focal length rather than zoom; you’ll change your framing by moving closer or stepping back. That makes it a straightforward option for photographers who enjoy choosing a viewpoint and building a picture around it.

Specialist Note

The fixed 25mm focal length shapes the way you frame: on a Micro Four Thirds body, it gives a view equivalent to 50mm on full frame. I’d suggest it to someone who wants street pictures with a clear subject, or travel portraits that still feel connected to their surroundings. For a café portrait, try f/1.7 and focus on the person’s eyes; the wide aperture can help draw attention to them against a less distinct background. It’s also useful when light is fading, though a prime won’t let you zoom in from where you’re standing. I like it most for deliberate, close-to-the-scene photography.
