Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN655 U.3 7.68TB PCIe TLC

Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN655 U.3 7.68TB PCIe TLC | High-capacity SSD storage

The defining choice here is capacity: 7.68TB, for people who need a substantial amount of SSD storage in one drive. Western Digital gives this Ultrastar DC SN655 model a U.3 designation, with PCIe and TLC also named in the product. That combination of labels makes it a specific option to consider when you’re choosing storage for a system built around those requirements. It suits buyers who already know they need this capacity and are comparing drives by connection type and storage technology, rather than looking for a general-purpose portable drive. The honest point is that the title gives a useful starting set of identifiers, not a complete buying checklist. If the capacity is right for your project, the next step is making sure the U.3 and PCIe details suit the system you plan to use it with.

Choosing by the details

For a storage purchase, capacity is only one part of the decision. Here, 7.68TB is the clear figure to compare against the amount of space you need, while U.3, PCIe and TLC help distinguish this model from drives carrying different labels. Those terms are worth keeping together when you’re matching a drive to a planned setup; don’t rely on the product family name alone. I’d start by checking that the capacity fits the job, then compare the U.3 and PCIe requirements for your system. This listing is for shoppers who have a particular SSD configuration in mind, rather than anyone simply browsing for storage without a defined requirement.
