Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Video Carbon Travel Tripod | Monopod support in tight spaces

A full tripod can be awkward to carry and even harder to place when an event is crowded. The Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Video Carbon Travel Tripod is a monopod: it gives you a support point for your camera without the footprint of a tripod. It’s suited to sports and wildlife photographers working with long lenses, and to event photographers who need to move around without taking up much room. Its carbon construction and travel-focused design make it a practical option when you’re carrying support between locations. The F38 quick release is there for faster attachment and removal, useful when you need to switch between supported shooting and moving on. For video, it can help steady your framing while you follow action. Think of it as a way to take some of the weight of a long-lens setup, not as a hands-free stand that will hold itself upright.

Specialist Note

“Is the Ulanzi F38 Quick Release Video Carbon Travel Tripod a full tripod?” No—it’s a monopod, so you keep a smaller footprint and still get a support point for your camera. I’d suggest it for wildlife or field sports with a long lens: plant the monopod beneath the setup, then follow the subject as it moves. At a busy event, that narrower footprint is easier to manage around other people. The carbon construction suits carrying support from one position to the next, while the F38 quick release helps you take the camera off promptly when you need to move. The trade-off is that a monopod won’t stand unattended like a tripod.
