SmallRig 5389 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Handle For Sigma BF (Black)
SmallRig 5389 L-Shaped Mount Plate w/ Handle For Sigma BF (Black) | More support for handheld video
The defining choice is the L-shaped mount plate: it gives the Sigma BF a rig-style support layout, with a handle for handheld video work. This SmallRig 5389 is a shoulder rig for Sigma BF owners who want extra support while filming without switching to a tripod setup. The handle gives you a dedicated place to hold the rig, while the plate’s L shape keeps the design focused around supporting the camera. It’s best suited to handheld filming where you want a more supported way to work, such as short video pieces or scenes that involve following a subject. The design is specific to the Sigma BF, so it makes sense for photographers and videographers building a handheld setup around that camera. Think of it as a practical support accessory for shooting video on the move, rather than a general-purpose camera plate.
Specialist Note
People filming handheld interviews, walk-and-talk clips or behind-the-scenes footage are the ones I’d point towards this rig. The L-shaped plate gives the setup its particular form, and the handle gives you a clear grip point when you’re supporting the Sigma BF during a take. For a short moving shot, I’d hold it with both hands and keep your movements measured; that’s a sensible way to make use of a shoulder rig’s added support. The 5389 is the model designation, so it’s the specific SmallRig plate-and-handle option named for the Sigma BF. One honest note: it’s for handheld support, not a locked-off tripod shot.
