When a tiny subject is surrounded by distracting shadows, the OM SYSTEM LG-1 brings ring-shaped LED light to the close-up. It’s a dedicated ring light for the OM SYSTEM TG-7, TG-6, TG-5, TG-4, TG-3, TG-2 and TG-1 cameras, suited to photographers who want more even illumination for macro, beauty or product shots. The circular light helps make close details easier to photograph without the uneven shadows that can get in the way of showing a subject clearly. Its purpose is specific: close-up lighting, rather than a general-purpose lighting setup. That makes it a good match for photographing small objects, textures or beauty details with the compatible TG camera, especially when you want the subject to read cleanly in the frame. If you regularly photograph close-up subjects with one of these TG models, the LG-1 gives you a simple way to add even light around them.

Specialist Note

The LG-1 puts ring-shaped light around a macro subject, which is a more direct answer to close-up shadows than trying to arrange light from the side. Its LED source is part of the light guide, so you can use it for small product details or beauty close-ups without bringing a separate light into the setup. I’d use it when the point is to show a surface or detail clearly: frame the subject close, then let the ring illumination fall evenly across it.
