Kingston 30.72TB DC3000ME U.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe TCG O

Kingston 30.72TB DC3000ME U.2 PCIe 5.0 NVMe TCG O | Keep more data on one drive

Keep a substantial amount of data on one drive: the Kingston DC3000ME has a stated capacity of 30.72TB. It’s an external SSD for people who need a large storage destination for sizeable collections, ongoing projects or other data-heavy work. The title identifies it as a U.2 drive using PCIe 5.0 and NVMe, so those details are useful when you’re assessing whether it fits your setup. Capacity is the clearest reason to consider it; the product information gives no transfer-rate figure, so I wouldn’t buy it on the promise of a particular speed. The model name is DC3000ME, and the title also includes “TCG O”. If your priority is bringing a large volume of storage together, this is the central point: 30.72TB, with the connection and protocol stated plainly in the name.

Making sense of the capacity

For a drive at this capacity, it helps to start with what you need to store rather than assume a speed or workflow benefit. Think about the overall size of your files and how much room you want available in one place. That makes the 30.72TB figure the practical detail to weigh first. The U.2, PCIe 5.0 and NVMe terms identify the drive’s stated format and technology; they aren’t a substitute for checking your own storage requirements. If a large capacity is the main reason you’re considering this Kingston, the name gives you a concrete number to compare with your needs. I’d keep the decision focused on that capacity and the stated U.2 connection, rather than reading extra performance promises into the model title.
