It’s photographic paper for black-and-white enlargements, in a pack of 50 sheets. That size suits a finished print you can handle and display, while still leaving room to crop a little if your image proportions don’t match the paper. VC Select is the name of the paper range; the title also identifies the sheet dimensions and pack quantity, so you can plan a set of prints around a consistent format. I’d consider it for printing a favourite negative at a useful, substantial size, or for making several versions while refining your exposure and contrast. The pack gives you a defined amount to work through, rather than an open-ended supply. It’s a straightforward format choice for a darkroom printer who already knows the size they want to make.

Specialist Note

This Ilford VC Select pack makes it easy to work directly at 24 × 30.5 cm instead of building a larger-looking print from smaller pieces. I’d suggest it to someone making a small run of finished black-and-white enlargements, or working through a few interpretations of one negative: keep the sheet size consistent and compare the results side by side. The 50-sheet quantity gives you room for test prints as well as final versions, without committing to a much larger stack. Its 24 × 30.5 cm format is also a sensible choice when you want a print with more presence than a small darkroom study. It’s a specific paper format, so it won’t suit a project that calls for a different finished print size.

Technical Specifications

Product: Ilford Photo VCSELECT66M

Sheet size: 24 × 30.5 cm

Quantity: 50 sheets
