It’s a color filter, identified as an F-PRO model with an MRC designation, and its size is clearly stated in the name. That makes it relevant to photographers whose setup calls for a 105mm filter and who want this specific yellow filter, rather than a different color. Yellow filters are often used in black-and-white photography to give blue skies more separation from clouds, so landscapes are a natural place to try one. The result depends on the scene and the look you’re after; this filter is best for photographers who want to make that choice deliberately. If you’re comparing filters, the useful details here are the yellow designation and the 105mm size. It’s a focused tool for a particular filtration choice, not a general-purpose lens accessory.

Specialist Note

The 105mm diameter is the first detail to get right: it’s the size to match to your lens’s filter fitting, so this is for a setup that takes a 105mm filter. The F-PRO and MRC markings help identify the exact version when you’re choosing or matching filters. I’d consider it for monochrome landscapes: on a blue-sky scene, yellow filtration can make the sky appear darker relative to the clouds. It’s also an option when you want a deliberate yellow-filter effect in color photography. If that effect isn’t part of your plan, the yellow designation is the main reason to choose this filter; the title gives no basis for expecting other performance benefits.

Technical Specifications

Brand: B+W

Filter: 022 Yellow

Series: F-PRO

Designation: MRC

Size: 105mm

Category: Color Filter
