B+W’s ring lets you use a 62 mm filter on a lens with a 72 mm filter thread, so you can make use of a filter you already own instead of buying another in the larger size. It’s for photographers who have this particular size pairing and want a simple physical link between lens and filter. The black finish keeps the accessory visually understated alongside dark camera equipment. This is a practical, purpose-specific adapter, not a filter in its own right: it doesn’t change the effect of the filter you attach. Choose it when the lens and filter sizes match this step-down, and the job is to connect them.

Specialist Note

Photographers who shoot landscapes or architecture with a lens that takes a 72 mm filter can use this ring to attach a 62 mm filter they already have. Fit the ring to the lens first, then screw the filter onto the smaller opening; that gives you a straightforward way to keep using that filter for the scene. The black finish is a quiet, practical detail rather than a feature that changes the picture. Just bear in mind that this ring bridges one specific size pairing: it won’t let a smaller filter cover a larger opening, or alter what the filter does. If those are the sizes you need to connect, it keeps the setup simple.

Technical Specifications

Type: Step-down ring

Category: Filter accessory

Colour: Black
