This B+W adapter bridges that size difference, letting you use a 37mm filter on a lens with a 52mm thread. It’s for photographers who already own a smaller filter and want to use it on a lens with a larger front thread, rather than buying another filter in a different size. The ring’s job is simply to connect the two; it doesn’t change the effect of the filter you attach. That makes it a straightforward accessory when you want to keep using a particular filter across lenses with different thread sizes. It’s most useful when the filter you want to use is smaller than the lens thread, as in this size combination.

Specialist Note

This ring has a specific job, so it won’t help if your filter is larger than the lens thread; for the right size pairing, though, it’s a neat way to keep using a filter you already own. The 52-to-37mm conversion means the ring goes between a larger lens thread and a smaller filter, which is handy for using a 37mm filter on a 52mm-thread lens. Its black finish keeps the adapter visually understated. I’d suggest it to someone who has a particular small filter they still wants to use—for example, fitting that filter for a day of landscape work. Just remember that the ring changes the fit, not the filter’s effect.

Technical Specifications

Type: Step-down ring

Size conversion: 52mm to 37mm

Colour: Black
