It’s a 62mm infrared filter, suited to photographers who want to experiment with infrared rendering in landscapes, foliage or architectural scenes. The results depend on how the camera records infrared light, so the same scene can look different from one setup to another. That makes this an interesting tool for deliberate experiments rather than a filter for predictable everyday colour. Try it on a subject with clear shapes and contrasting areas, then compare the result with a regular photograph of the same view. The IR720 designation identifies this particular filter; the 62mm size is the practical detail to match to a lens’s filter fitting. If you’re curious about infrared images and want to explore the effect optically, this GREEN.L gives you a simple place to begin.

Specialist Note

For infrared pictures, this gives you a dedicated filter in front of the lens instead of relying on a software effect to imitate the look. The 62mm size matters when choosing where to use it: it’s for a lens with a matching 62mm filter fitting, so it won’t be a universal fit across your lenses. I’d suggest starting with foliage or a building against open sky, and comparing how each scene renders. The IR720 name is useful when identifying the specific version you’re choosing. One honest caveat: the filter can’t determine the result on its own; your camera’s response to infrared light affects what you’ll see.

Technical Specifications

Product: GREEN.L IR720 62mm Infra-Red

Filter type: Infra-red

Filter size: 62mm

Designation: IR720
