Ilford MGFB5K Classic is photo paper sized 20.3 x 25.4 cm, for photographers who want to work to that specific sheet size. It’s best suited to print projects where that format is already part of the plan, rather than a job where you’re still deciding how large the paper should be. The product name also gives you a clear identifier when you’re selecting paper for a particular project or looking for the same named product again. There’s no need to guess at the format: the dimensions are part of the title. If you’re comparing options, start with the size your image or print layout needs, then see whether this paper matches it.

Choosing by format

For a print, the paper’s outer dimensions and the image area you plan to use on it are separate decisions. Keep that distinction in mind when setting up a layout: the sheet size tells you the paper format, while the image placement depends on your own design. This makes a clearly named size useful during planning, especially when you want to choose paper before you arrange an image for printing. I’d treat the dimensions as the main practical point here and match them to the print you have in mind. The product is identified as MGFB5K Classic, so that name can help distinguish it in your paper selection. Its title also includes “25V”; I’ve kept that designation as written rather than assigning it a meaning. For a straightforward choice, compare the stated format with the size required by your project.

Technical Specifications

Brand: Ilford

Product line: MGFB5K Classic

Category: Photo paper

Dimensions: 20.3 x 25.4 cm

Designation: 25V

Colour: Black
