It suits Fuji users who have already identified this hood model as the one for their setup. A lens hood shades the front of a lens from light arriving at an angle, which can help reduce unwanted flare when you're shooting with bright light coming from the side or just outside the frame. That makes it handy for street scenes in strong daylight and for portraits with backlight; adjust your position so the light source is blocked from the lens, while keeping your subject in the light. The finish is black, a restrained look alongside a camera. If you're comparing hood options, use the LH-JX70II designation as your reference rather than assuming that similar-looking hoods fit the same lens.

Specialist Note

First-time hood buyers can focus on how a hood looks and miss the model code that identifies it. Here, look for LH-JX70II; the black colour tells you the finish, not the fit. I’d suggest this to a Fuji user who has established that this is the hood model for their setup and wants help shading the lens in bright, angled light. For a backlit portrait, keep the subject turned towards the light, then shift your position until the light source is outside the frame. One honest point: a hood can help with stray light, but it can’t remove flare in every lighting situation.

Technical Specifications

Brand: JJC

Model: LH-JX70II

Product type: Lens hood

System: Fuji

Colour: Black
