The Laowa Aksen 2-Lens Bundle pairs a 45mm f/2.8 lens with a 17.5mm f/1.7 lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. The 45mm has a 27° angle of view, so it favours selected details and subjects across a street over expansive surroundings. The 17.5mm gives a broader perspective for including more of a scene, and its f/1.7 maximum aperture is useful when available light drops. Both are manual-focus lenses, making the set a better fit for photographers who like to place focus themselves and work at a considered pace. For travel, the appeal is having two distinct framing options in one bundle; for street work, you can move from environmental context to a more selective subject view without changing camera system.

Specialist Note

This bundle solves the street-and-travel compromise of carrying only one angle of view: on an MFT body, its two lenses frame like roughly 90mm and 35mm on full frame. I’d use the 17.5mm at f/1.7 for a street scene in fading light; around 1/125 sec is a sensible starting shutter speed for people moving, then raise ISO if exposure needs it. The 45mm at f/2.8 gives me a tighter way to isolate a sign, detail or candid moment without stepping closer. Manual focus suits someone happy to pre-focus rather than react quickly. Just remember that the 45mm’s tighter view is less forgiving in cramped interiors.

Technical Specifications

Bundle lenses: 45mm f/2.8 and 17.5mm f/1.7

Focal length: 45mm

Maximum aperture: f/2.8

Lens type: Standard Prime

Mount: MFT

Sensor format: Micro Four Thirds

Focus: Manual Focus

Angle of view: 27°

Genuinely suited for: Street, Travel
