This Marumi step-up ring bridges that size difference, letting you attach a 62 mm filter or accessory to a lens with a 46 mm thread. It’s for photographers who want to use an accessory they already have, rather than being limited to one that matches the lens diameter. The ring is black, and its purpose is straightforward: connect those two sizes. That makes it a handy part of a filter setup when your lens and accessory don’t match. It won’t change the effect of the filter or make a differently sized accessory fit; it simply provides the link between the lens and the 62 mm fitting.

Specialist Note

The black ring gives you a simple physical link between a smaller lens thread and a larger filter fitting. I’d use it when you want to put a 62 mm filter on a lens with a 46 mm thread: screw the ring onto the lens, then fit the filter to the other side. It can also help you make use of a 62 mm accessory that would otherwise be the wrong diameter for that lens. This suits anyone building around an existing filter size. One limitation is worth keeping in mind: it only bridges these two diameters, so it won’t solve a mismatch if your accessory has a different size.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Step-up ring

Lens-side diameter: 46 mm

Accessory-side diameter: 62 mm

Colour: Black
