The Tilta GSS-T01-WTC is a shoulder rig intended to add support, and its name identifies it as a wireless thumb controller for the RS 2. It suits video operators who want a more supported handheld setup while working with that system. Think interview coverage or event footage where you’re operating by hand and want the shoulder rig to support the work. The useful distinction here is its combination of shoulder-rig use and a wireless thumb-controller format for the RS 2; it’s not simply a general-purpose tripod. If your work is mainly locked-off, tripod-based filming, this handheld-focused product may not be the part of your setup you need most. For handheld video, though, its purpose is clear.

Specialist Note

Can the Tilta GSS-T01-WTC add support to an RS 2 handheld setup? Yes; it’s described as a shoulder rig for handheld video work. The wireless thumb-controller design is useful when you want a controller without a cable connection, while the thumb-operated format puts the control point within thumb reach. For interview coverage or event footage, use it as a shoulder rig for your handheld work rather than relying on grip alone. It’s specifically named for the RS 2, so I’d keep the recommendation focused there. One thing to bear in mind: this is aimed at handheld operation, not replacing a tripod for locked-off shots.

Technical Specifications

Product type: Shoulder rig

Controller: Wireless thumb controller

For: RS 2

Typical use: Handheld video work needing extra support
