XEEN 14mm T3.1 FF Cine MFT | Wide framing for cinematic video

For video and filmmaking, a broad view can bring a room, a landscape or the action around your subject into one composed shot. The XEEN 14mm T3.1 FF Cine MFT is an interchangeable ultra-wide prime lens for Micro Four Thirds, with a 14mm focal length and a maximum aperture of T3.1. Its approximately 75° angle of view gives you room to show context without needing to move far from the scene. That makes it useful for establishing shots, interiors and close camera positions where a standard view would leave too much out. It’s designed for a considered, cinematic approach to filming rather than quick autofocus-driven shooting. The T3.1 aperture gives you a practical exposure setting to work with as light changes, while the prime format keeps the framing fixed: you compose by moving the camera, not by zooming. A focused option for filmmakers who want a wide Micro Four Thirds view.

Specialist Note

The 14mm focal length opens up the frame quickly, which is handy when you need an establishing shot in a tight interior. On a Micro Four Thirds body, it gives a 28mm-equivalent field of view; keep the camera level and place important faces away from the edges for a more natural-looking composition. I’d also consider it for moving through a location: manual focus lets you set focus deliberately before a take, rather than relying on the lens to choose. T3.1 is useful when you want to keep exposure workable in available light, though it can’t replace adding light when a scene is genuinely dim. It suits filmmakers happy to control focus and camera position for each shot.
