XEEN Meister 35mm T1.3 PL (Meter)

XEEN Meister 35mm T1.3 PL (Meter) | Fast standard prime for cinema work

For film scenes that need a balanced view and room to shape focus, the XEEN Meister 35mm T1.3 PL (Meter) is a standard prime lens made for video and filmmaking. Its 35mm focal length gives you a practical starting point for dialogue, documentary scenes and other shots where you want to include some surroundings without making the subject feel distant. The PL mount suits a PL-mounted camera setup, while manual focus puts focus decisions in the operator’s hands. This is an interchangeable lens for filmmakers who want to build shots deliberately, rather than rely on autofocus or a zoom to change framing. Its broad T1.3 maximum aperture also gives you more scope to work in dimmer scenes and to separate a subject from the background. It’s a focused tool for controlled cinema work, especially when your framing and focus are planned as part of the shot.

Planning a shot with a prime

A fixed focal length encourages you to settle on your framing before recording. That can make a scene feel considered: choose the camera position, place your subject in the frame, then let movement and focus guide the viewer’s attention. For interviews, narrative scenes or documentary work, this approach can help keep the image language consistent across takes. It’s a lens for operators who are happy to make those choices themselves.
