Radius Windcover For Rycote WS1 Windshield
Radius Windcover For Rycote WS1 Windshield | Protection inside your bag
What sets the Radius Windcover apart is its specific job: it’s a protective pouch for the Rycote WS1 Windshield, not a place to store general camera gear. It suits sound recordists and camera operators who carry the WS1 in a larger equipment bag and want to guard it against everyday scratches and bumps as their kit is packed and moved. Use it to keep the windshield covered between setups or while it’s stored, then place it inside your main bag with the rest of your equipment. The benefit is straightforward: the WS1 gets its own protective layer in the bag. If you want a simple way to keep this particular windshield from rubbing against other gear, this pouch is made for that role.
Specialist Note
The Radius Windcover For Rycote WS1 Windshield is best at protecting the WS1 from scrapes and knocks while it’s packed away. I’d put the windshield in its pouch before loading it into a larger equipment bag, rather than letting it travel loose among other items. It’s also handy to keep the WS1 covered between recording sessions, so it’s ready to pack again without picking up avoidable surface marks. Do keep its role in mind: this is a pouch for protection in a bag, not a hard case for more substantial impact protection. For someone carrying this windshield as part of a larger kit, that focused bit of protection makes sense.
